DOJ: Defense Department Employee Worked Both Sides

Michael Henry, the technical director for the Defense Department’s Joint Staff J6 was indicted for allegedly using his official position to enrich himself by way of a military contractor payments

By Peter Beck and Seamus Hughes

Federal prosecutors say the former Technical Director for the Department of Defense’ Joint Staff J6 was getting paid from a military contractor and pushing through their contracts at the same time he was working for the U.S. government.

Michael Henry was indicted in late September with using his official position to earn personal financial benefits. Henry, a civilian employee who oversaw and recommended private contracts for the Joint Staff’s J6 directorate and departments throughout the DOD, allegedly received money from a company that prosecutors say he helped obtain government contracts. The charges, which haven’t been previously reported on, were unsealed on Thursday.
